Mazghouny & Co assisted the Aluminium Company of Egypt (EgyptAlum), the largest aluminium producer in the country and one of the largest in Africa, and an affiliate of Egypt’s Metallurgical Industries Holding Company, a Public Business Sector holding company, with respect to its agreement with the leading independent testing and certification company TUV Austria for support in obtaining the carbon footprint certificate and the ISO 14001:2015 certificate for its operations.
Both teams will collaborate towards the calculation of the carbon footprint of the EgyptAlum factory in Naga Hammadi, covering GHG scopes 1, 2, and 3 emissions, as well as the development of an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for the factory’s aluminium products.
Our team, led by senior counsel Ahmed Mostafa, supported by associates Mohamed Abdelwahed and Ahmed Heiba, assisted EgyptAlum with the review and negotiation of the agreement executed earlier this week with TUV Austria.
