Mazghouny & Co is pleased to have acted as legal counsel to IRSC for Renewable Energy Solutions, advising on the drafting and review of a 30-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Arabian Cement Company (ACC), one of Egypt’s top cement producers and industrial leaders. This agreement reinforces IRSC’s position as a key player in medium-sized clean energy solutions for industrial offtake.
Helping IRSC deliver reliable green electricity
As part of this transaction, IRSC will develop, finance, construct, own, and operate the second phase of ACC’s solar power plant, with a total capacity of 17.6 MWp. The plant is expected to generate 32.5 GWh of renewable electricity annually, significantly reducing ACC’s carbon footprint and reliance on conventional energy sources.
By securing this long-term PPA, IRSC continues to expand its role in Egypt’s C&I solar power market, providing bankable and sustainable energy solutions that align with the country’s Vision 2030 and clean energy targets.
Legal support for renewable energy projects
With its project finance focus, Mazghouny & Co has a strong track record in advising renewable energy developers, investors, and financiers on complex transactions, including PPAs, project structuring, regulatory compliance, EPC, O&M, and financing arrangements.
Our role in this transaction highlights our deep sector expertise and commitment to supporting independent power producers (IPPs) and energy service companies (ESCOs) in navigating Egypt’s evolving energy market regulations.
Encouraging more businesses to choose clean energy solutions
The agreement between IRSC and ACC encourages industrial-scale solar energy adoption in Egypt, demonstrating the viability of long-term private PPAs as a solution for businesses seeking to enhance energy independence and sustainability.
