Scatec 5GW wind power project Egypt

Mazghouny & Co has assisted Scatec with the signing of an agreement granting the company access to site for starting the early-stage development of a 5GW wind power project in West Sohag in Egypt.

The project, which will be built in multiple phases, is expected to have an investment cost of about USD 5 billion, and to create over 8,000 jobs during the construction phase and about 300 jobs after completion. The wind power generation from the plant will contribute to increasing the renewables share in Egypt’s electricity mix, and towards achieving the country’s objective of increasing renewable energy generation to 42% by 2030.

Mazghouny & Co Projects & Infrastructure team has assisted Scatec with the review of the agreement executed with the New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) for granting access to the site.
