Mazghouny & Co advises Intro Power & Utilities on its 14 MW co-generation project with NCMP

Intro Group and Cairo 3A energy co-generation supply deal

Mazghouny & Co has advised, Intro Utilities, Intro Group‘s sustainable power and utilities arm, with respect to its 15-year energy supply project with the National Company for Maize Products (NCMP), a subsidiary of Cairo 3A, and a leading company in the agri commodities market in Egypt. The project consists in a BOT co-generation unit to supply NCMP with its entire 14 MW electricity demand and most of its thermal energy needs.

Once operational, the combined heat and power (CHP) project will be one of the largest private-to-private energy efficiency projects in Egypt and will lead to a reduction of CO2 emissions of almost 17,600 tonnes/year.

The team that assisted IPU with the review, drafting and negotiation of the energy supply and land title agreements, consisted of Associate Khadiga Abou-Zeid, with support from Senior Counsel Ahmed Mostafa, and Associates Yehia Zakaria and Mohamed Abdel Wahed.
